Job Description
As a Weekend Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for completing collections and deliveries safely, efficiently, and on time. You will operate under our contract while using a company-provided van, ensuring all jobs are completed in accordance with Steady Wheel Transport’s service standards.
This is a flexible weekend position offering competitive pay and opportunities for additional weekday shifts as the business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
Complete assigned delivery and collection routes across the North West and UK.
Safely load, secure, transport, and unload goods including parcels, boxes, and furniture.
Use the company van responsibly, ensuring it is kept clean, well-maintained, and returned with adequate fuel.
Carry out basic vehicle checks before and after each shift (tyres, lights, oil, fuel, etc.).
Communicate promptly with the control team regarding delays, issues, or completed jobs.
Update delivery status via the company’s Driver App in real time.
Provide professional and courteous customer service at every drop-off and collection.
Adhere to all UK road traffic laws and company driving policies.
Requirements
Full UK driving licence (clean or minimal points).
Age 21+ (for insurance purposes).
Experience in delivery or courier driving preferred but not essential.
Physically fit and capable of handling loads up to 25kg.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Reliable and punctual, with weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday).
Smart appearance and good customer service attitude.
Uniform and Equipment
Drivers are required to wear: Black trousers, Black polo shirt, Hi-Vis vest or jacket, Safety boots
A company van and fuel card will be provided for all weekend delivery duties.
Pay and Benefits
£13.50–£16.50 per hour (depending on route and performance).
Company van and fuel included for all work-related travel.
Monthly pay by bank transfer.
Flexible weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday).
24/7 operations and driver support from our Preston control centre.
Opportunity to progress to full-time or weekday driving roles.
Compliance and Standards
All drivers must comply with Steady Wheel Transport Ltd’s operational and safety procedures. Service standards must be maintained at all times; repeated failure to follow company policies may result in contract review or termination.
